Closed sanitation is widely used by healthcare facilities to reduce the risk of spread of STIs and contamination of medical personnel. As part of this concept, the company has taken another fundamental step forward: a new generation of truly closed system with an integrated bacterial filter has been developed. Thanks to its innovative design, the Cassy system is extremely easy to use and offers much greater safety and convenience for patients and medical staff than traditional open aspiration devices.
Cassy closed aspiration systems offer the following features:
The traditional algorithm of tracheobronchial tree (TBD) sanation is accompanied by disconnection of the patient from the ventilator and temporary cessation of artificial lung ventilation, which leads to hypoxia, spread of HBI (nosocomial infection) and other undesirable phenomena.
The use of closed aspiration systems reduces the risk of airborne infection and related illnesses to the patient and medical staff.
Purpose:
Components of the Cassy closed aspiration system:
The double standardized swivel connector (1) through the freely rotating connector (2) (prevents twisting of the breathing tubes) allows connection of any breathing circuit design.
The endotracheal or tracheostomy tube connector (3) has a unique disconnecting ring (4) that allows the Cassy to be easily disconnected from the endotracheal or tracheostomy tube. When rotated in the direction indicated by the arrows, the ring gently disconnects the system, without force or the use of special devices.
The flushing port (5) is used to flush the catheter and administer drugs and solutions. It is a tube with a Luer-type connector with a hermetically sealed cap that can withstand repeated opening and closing. Includes a built-in non-return valve to prevent unwanted backflow of the injected solution.
The device is provided with a special isolation valve (6) which, when in the open position, simultaneously with the administration of the solution, allows the insertion of an aspiration catheter into the tube. When the valve is closed, the catheter can be flushed without fear of the flushing solution entering the patient's airway.
A convenient handle clearly indicates the open/closed position of the flushing chamber valve. Moreover, the isolation valve reduces dead space and prevents inadvertent insertion of the catheter into the endotracheal or tracheostomy tube.
A high quality Mully type aspiration catheter (7) protected by a transparent sleeve (8) has:
A transparent, thin but durable protective sleeve (8) securely keeps the system sealed. Allows staff to easily manipulate the catheter and visually monitor the color of the secretion, and provides an opportunity to easily read the markings on the aspiration catheter.
Color-coded connectors (9,10) allow quick and easy selection of the desired size Cassy sealed aspiration system.
The vacuum control unit (11) is ergonomically designed for a firm but comfortable grip. The system is equipped with a protection mechanism against accidental activation of the button. The transparent protective cover (12), prevents unintentional pressing of the control button.
The unique 5µ hydrophobic filter integrated into the vacuum control unit, located at the distal end of the Cassy system protective sleeve, effectively prevents any bacterial flora from entering the sleeve.
The universal connector (male type) (13) in the vacuum control unit is compatible with all vacuum aspiration systems and sputum sampling devices. It is reinforced with transverse stiffeners for a secure connection to the vacuum aspirator tube.
The system is equipped with a corrugated stretchable adapter tube (14) for connecting the breathing circuit. The adapter tube is 15 mm / 22 mm.
The included day-of-week labels affixed to the Cassy indicate the day on which the system must be replaced.
All working parts of the product are marked in gray for easy identification.
