System for monitoring diuresis and intra-abdominal pressure «U-meter Plus»

“U-meter Plus” diuresis and intra-abdominal pressure monitoring system is a system for monitoring diuresis and intra-abdominal pressure. It is designed for collection, sampling and hourly monitoring of urine volume (diuresis) and intra-abdominal pressure during the day in patients in critical condition.

The system for monitoring diuresis and intra-abdominal pressure "U-meter Plus" is fully ready for use as a real tool for objective assessment of IAP. It is a sterile closed system, including: a system for diuresis control and a measuring part consisting of a graduated tube with a measurement step of 1mmHg and a hydrophobic antibacterial air filter built into the upper part, through which purified air passes into the system at the moment of intra-abdominal pressure measurement. The main purpose of this system is to provide multiple intra-abdominal pressure measurements without disconnecting the system (per protocol or on demand) with a simple, easy to perform manipulation.

 Distinctive features

• Transparent measuring chamber with a capacity of 500 ml.    In the center of the chamber a measuring cylinder with a capacity of up to 40 ml with 3 holes on the front. Two ports for communication with the main measuring chamber and one overflow port.
• A tap with open/closed position marking, located above the measuring chamber, between the chamber and the drive tube.
• The dual-lumen drive tube prevents urine stagnation: 110 cm long, with an anti-clogging spiral nozzle at the point of attachment to the chamber, prevents kinking.
• The connector has a universal needleless port or Luer-lock port, located at the distal end of the tube, prevents the risk of contamination. Clip (cremalier clip) included.
• 2.0 liter urine collection bag with identification scale. Has a special hole for attaching the drain cock. The drain cock is cross-shaped, off-center, located on the lower edge of the urine collection bag.
• The "U-meter Plus" has two non-return (check) valves.    One is located at the inlet of the bag, the other in the connector with the universal needleless port.
• Hydrophobic antibacterial filter - 2 pcs. Helps to filter infected air displaced from the system and prevent contamination.
• Two options for attachment to the bed: straps and hook.
• allows monitoring of IAP in mmHg at any time
• is installed in the patient for up to 7 days
• makes it possible to assess hourly diuresis and timely evaluate the degree of changes in the excretory system (decrease in diuresis - oliguria up to anuria).

Measurement of intra-abdominal pressure:

1. Draw 20 ml of sterile saline solution into a syringe
2. Insert the syringe into the needleless port and fill the system
3. Place the system in an upright position
4. Set the scale to zero at the symphysis/projection of the greater trochanter of the femur, open the red air filter clip, and measure intra-abdominal pressure
5. Close the red clamp and place the system in the horizontal position
6. Record the results on the observation sheet.
